Kathmandu Metropolitan City has entered into a one-year agreement with Dillibazaar's Goswara Post Office to manage the delivery of all municipal correspondence. Signed by municipal administration head Mahesh Kafle and Chief Postal Officer Dhal Bahadur GC, the partnership aims to make city mail dispatch more secure, systematic, and timely.
Under the arrangement, letters, reports, certificates, and parcels from all metropolitan departments will be assembled at the city's Central Liaison Unit and logged before transfer to postal staff. The post office will record items into a digital tracking system to oversee deliveries to government agencies, partner bodies, and individuals across Nepal's postal network.
The framework establishes varied service levels based on urgency and destination. For urgent documents under two kilograms within the metropolis, the post office offers same-day delivery, while general registered mail inside the city is slated for the following working day. Dispatches across the Kathmandu Valley and the remaining 74 districts will follow standard postal routines and Express Mail Service, with failed deliveries returned to the liaison unit.
