Jagdamba Motors has introduced two heavy-duty electric commercial vehicles from Chinese manufacturer Shaanxi Automobile Group into Nepal. The new lineup features the SHACMAN X5000e 6×4 Electric Prime Mover, priced at NPR 2.05 crore, and the X5000e 6×4 Electric Tipper, priced at NPR 2.35 crore. The prime mover targets long-haul logistics and freight transport, while the tipper is designed for civil construction and mining.
Both models feature a 310-kilowatt-hour lithium iron phosphate battery pack generating 340 kilowatts of peak power and 2,800 Newton-metres of torque. Built with a 6×4 drivetrain and 295 millimetres of ground clearance, the vehicles support one-hour dual-gun direct-current fast charging as well as five-minute battery swapping.
Jagdamba Motors stated that the electric trucks cost roughly NPR 30 per kilometre to run, compared to about NPR 136 per kilometre for traditional diesel alternatives. The company estimates this operating efficiency will lower day-to-day fleet expenses by around 60 percent, yielding annual savings of NPR 2.3 million to NPR 2.5 million per truck in heavy-use industries.
