Three Killed in Road Crashes in Dhanusha, Sunsari and Rautahat
A four-year-old girl, a motorcyclist and a 72-year-old pedestrian died in separate road crashes in Dhanusha, Sunsari and Rautahat, police said.

In Dhanusha, a four-year-old girl from Loharpatti Municipality-3 in neighbouring Mahottari district died after being hit by a tipper truck on the Janakpur–Dhalkebar road, Onlinekhabar and Baahrakhari reported.
Baahrakhari and an earlier Onlinekhabar report said the collision happened on Monday evening; a later Onlinekhabar report put it on Tuesday.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Khanal, spokesperson for the District Police Office in Dhanusha, the tipper truck, registered as Madhesh Province 03-001 Kha 8545, was en route from Janakpur toward Mahendranagar when it struck the girl as she attempted to cross the highway in front of the Rajdevi temple in Kshireshwarnath Municipality-1. Following initial medical attention at Janaki Medical College in Ramdaiya, she was moved to Ram Janaki Hospital in Janakpur, where attending medical personnel declared her dead at 8:50 p.m., DSP Khanal said. Her body was subsequently transferred to the Provincial Hospital in Janakpur for an autopsy. Police took the 36-year-old driver into custody at the Area Police Office in Mahendranagar.
Two other fatal crashes occurred on Monday night in eastern and central Tarai districts, Baahrakhari reported. In Sunsari, an unidentified man around 30 years old died after losing control of his motorcycle, bearing registration Ko 35 Pa 4115, while travelling from Shyam Chowk toward the old bus terminal in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-15. Police reported that the rider succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.
In Rautahat, an Indian-registered motorcycle struck an elderly pedestrian on Monday night in Gaur Municipality-9. Police said the two-wheeler, registered as BR 22 H 6159, was heading from Gaur toward Hajminiya when it hit 72-year-old local resident Narayan Baitha. Baitha suffered severe trauma and died while receiving emergency care at Sarwottam Hospital in Birgunj. Authorities stated that the motorcyclist fled the scene immediately after the impact, prompting a police search to track down the suspect.
